The Atomos Ninja 2 is one of the most popular and affordable HDMI recorders on the market. With the recent announcement of firmware 4.2, Atomos has added a number of new features to this already impressive recorder.
AtomOS 4.2 has enabled stepped audio meters with a range of -30 to 0 dB (dBFS), and -18 and -20 dB reference levels are marked. The user also now has the option to display audio meters vertically or horizontally, and there is a new multi-channel audio page. The new firmware also allows 5D Mark III users to apply input color correction to convert their footage to the Rec.709 standard. Other new updates include record command support for the Sony FS700, as well as proper one channel analog audio recording.
