After listening to user feedback, Vision Research recently announced version 2.2 of their Phantom Camera Control Software. This version brings with it many new features, such as:

• Support for all camera models, including new ones like the Phantom Flex4K

• The H.264 (.mp4) file format has been added to the Save > File Format menu

• A new “Quiet Fan” function allows the fan to be temporarily turned off on Miro M/LC/R models and v1610/v1210 cameras

• When you select Image Tools > Tone, you now have the ability to right click on the graphic to add inflection points to the tone curve, which can be readjusted to fine tune the image tone

There are numerous other additions, and to see them all you can download the full PCC 2.2 Release Notes or visit Vision Research’s Support Page to download the software. Plus, to make using v2.2 even easier, VRI has put together a series of video tutorials, which you can find on their gallery page under Phantom Camera Control Software Version 2.2.

Watch the video above for a walk-through of Capturing Your First Cine – and if you want to learn even more about Phantom cameras and workflows, our Phantom Flex two-day Intensive is coming to LA next month!
