Just when you thought the HDSLR revolution was over, Canon surprised us right before NAB 2012 with the announcement of the world’s first 4K capable HDSLR. Built on the same chasis as the EOS-1D X, the EOS-1D C is what Canon touts as a “hybrid” HDSLR, feeling at home both in a photo studio and alongside a traditional cinema camera on set. While many of the lenses and accessories for the 1D C are similar to the HDSLRs we’re already familiar with, the taller form factor and sensor crop modes mean there are some differences to keep in mind when kitting out your camera. I’ve put together a guide to help you get started – hopefully this will give you an overview of the many lens and accessory options out there.
