Alphatron has issued a firmware update for its popular EVF-035W-3G. The update corrects some minor operating bugs and introduces new functionality. Updates include:
- Compatibility with the Nikon D800 and D4 cameras
- Removes the issue of Zebra Patterning and Focus Assist sharing the same color, which made them difficult to use simultaneously
- Correct identification and signal pass-thru of 1080/24p and 1080/25p
- Adds a shortcut control for Focus Assist (FA) and Pixel-to-Pixel zoom modes. When FA is selected via an assigned User Button, pressing and rotating the rotary control allows the FA level to be adjusted. Similarly, when Pixel-to-Pixel is selected, the location of the frame enlargement portion can be selected by pushing and rotating the rotary control.
To update your Alphatron EVF, visit the official site - instructions are available with the file download. You will need a USB key to transfer the file from your computer to the EVF; the USB socket is located on the bottom of the EVF, under a flap labeled “Update.”
