Convergent Design’s Gemini 4:4:4 recorder is a simple device with a lot of functionality. Recently, ARRIRAW support was added via a paid license key, making it the most affordable ARRIRAW recorder. The Gemini is very easy to use on set, but the post workflow can be a bit tricky. To help our clients and our internet friends, I have put together a couple of videos on how to set up the Gemini and work with the footage. In the first part above, I show how to record 4:4:4 video and also ARRIRAW. Stay tuned for the next post in the series, which will cover how to work with the footage in Resolve 9 to create dailies.
