The CamTram System 2500 is now available for sale exclusively from Abel. This model offers several improvements over the original in terms of weight and flexibility, as well as a significantly reduced cost.
Here’s a brief overview of what’s new in the CamTram 2500. Many of these improvements were made as a direct result of user feedback.
The telescopic tubes for adjusting the width of the dolly wheels have now been replaced with 1” square aluminum extrusion. This means that CamTram is now adjustable from 6” to 24”. The ability to configure narrower widths was frequent user request. For those requiring wider widths, custom lengths of spreader extrusion are available.
The extrusion now allows the Hi Hat to be placed anywhere the operator desires within the 24” spread – another common request that’s been fulfilled in CamTram II. Additionally, the Hi Hat has been upgraded with a larger footprint.
CamTram 2500 features new silicone o-rings on the dolly wheels. They are even smoother and more durable than the previous rubber wheels.
As the parking breaks were seldom used on previous versions, this feature has been omitted from the CamTram II. Instead, it is recommended to use an “A” clip on each end of the Tram when it is not in use to avoid inadvertent movement. There is a modified cable out rigger system on the new model.
CamTram 2500 now comes packed in a custom 2700 Storm Case. An accessory stud and spare o-rings are available as optional accessories. If the CamTram is stored in its case when not in use, the o-rings should last two to three years.
